The peer-reviewed bulletin of the Indian Society for History of Mathematics, devoted to publication of significant original articles in the history of mathematics and related areas.
About the Journal
Gaṇita Bhāratī is devoted to the publication of significant original articles in the history of mathematics and related areas. Although English is the official language of the journal, an article of exceptional merit written in French, German, Sanskrit or Hindi will also be considered as a special case.
Effective Vol. 28 (2006), Gaṇita Bhāratī is published bi-annually in the months of June and December. Apart from continuing its emphasis on articles on the history of ancient Indian mathematics, the Bulletin welcomes contributions on any aspect of the world history of mathematics, including:
- General Histories, Source Books and Biographies of Mathematicians
- Mathematics and Indigenous Cultures of the World
- The Origin of Mathematics
- 19th and 20th Century Mathematics
- Renaissance and the History of Mathematics in Education Curricula
The journal also carries Review and Survey articles, Classroom Notes, Dissertation Abstracts, Book Reviews, Letters to the Editor, Opinions, News Café, International Events and Obituaries.
The corresponding author of an article published in GB will be entitled to receive that issue free, provided they bear a nominal charge of ₹ 150.00 (within India) or US$ 15.00 (outside India) to cover handling and shipping. Authors also receive a PDF of their published work free of cost by e-mail.
